Lily is committed to treating each client as the expert in their own life and adapting therapy appropriately. She is passionate about affirming each person’s individual expression, working through a social-justice and trauma-informed
lens, and validating each unique, intersectional experience. Lily acknowledges the profound importance of also recognizing her own identities and privilege throughout the therapeutic process.
Lily works with a wide variety of concerns. Some areas that she enjoys working with and hopes to specialize in include: anxiety, ADHD, depression, self-esteem, addictive behaviors, chronic impulsivity, codependency, life transitions, chronic illness, individual and collective trauma, and eating disorders.
Lily believes that each of us has intrinsic worth and the innate ability to heal. Her goal as a therapist is to collaboratively meet clients where they are in their personal journey to healing, support them to discover the best version of themselves, and empower them to connect to a more meaningful and fulfilling life. She believes that therapy should be an opportunity for the client to be deeply seen and understood with unconditional acceptance and no preconceived notions about who one “should” be.
Lily considers herself an integrative therapist who is trauma-informed, strength-based, and client-focused. She aims to tailor her therapeutic approach to each client’s unique experience and needs. She is grounded in both evidence-based practice and holistic functional care. She utilizes a humanistic and existential approach in conjunction with empirically supported interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. Lily is dedicated to operating as a lifelong learner in the field of counseling and is currently participating in a professional development cohort through the Gestalt Institute of Pittsburgh. Gestalt therapy is an expressive, present-focused, and action-based practice that emphasizes meaning and empowerment of self.
Lily lives in Charlottesville and likes to make art, watch Netflix on the couch, connect with loved ones, read mystery novels, and spend time enjoying the outdoors.
Lily is accepting new clients and has a short waitlist! While she cannot accept insurance, she offers a sliding scale often commensurate with insurance copays and rates.
