Chandler (she/they) is a fourth year Counseling Psychology Doctoral Candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Chandler has three years of experience providing psychotherapy under doctoral level supervision. Their work at Charlottesville Empowerment will be supervised by Dr. Tasha Nadasdi, Psy.D., L.P. Chandler is firmly committed to providing clients a supportive space that honors their intersecting identities, their lived experience, and personal values.

Chandler's approach to therapy is relational and client-centered, which emphasizes developing a strong, mutually empowering, and growth-fostering relationships with clients. She views the therapeutic relationship as collaborative and strives to work with each client to determine what therapeutic models and interventions are the best fit for their needs.

Chandler’s work is primarily guided by black feminism, relational cultural, and radical healing psychological frameworks. She aims to provide culturally humble, trauma informed, and socially just care to all clients. Chandler affirms that individuals are the experts on their own experiences and care. Her goal as a therapist is for clients to feel empowered and affirmed, and for therapy support to be grounded in the systemic and structural realities that impact their healing journey. Relatedly, Chandler also aims to support clients in developing strategies to resist against oppressive structures.

Chandler currently lives in Richmond, VA with their partner. In their free time she enjoys reading books, trying new foods, thrifting, and digital collage making. Chandler stands in solidarity with calls for a Free Congo, Sudan, Palestine, and all other occupied territories.
