Doctoral Intern
Pronouns: She/Her

Isis (e-seas) is a Doctoral Intern, returning to Charlottesville Empowerment as part of her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Virginia's Counseling and Psychological Services. She will graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University with her doctorate in Counseling Psychology in late 2025, at which time she will continue at Charlottesville Empowerment as a Postdoctoral Fellow. She has five years of supervised experience providing psychotherapy online and in-person. Isis will continue to be supervised by Dr. Tasha Nadasdi through her Post Doctoral Fellowship. Isis is committed to providing services that honor her clients identities, experiences, and values.
Isis takes a client-centered and integrated approach to therapy, in which she works with each client to determine what type(s) of therapy work best for them. She is most influenced by relational-cultural, feminist, and decolonial frameworks. Isis's goal as a therapist is for clients to feel
empowered in themselves, increase feelings of positive self-regard, and develop an understanding of how social contexts may impact their overall well-being. She understands that healing is a journey, not a destination.
Isis aims to provide trauma-informed, culturally humble services to all her clients. She has a particular interest in working with clients who are bilingual, Latine, or have been impacted by the social context of immigration and migration law/policies. Isis is also open to working with clients in individual and couples therapy.
